Valentine Mihm

1799-1861

Valentine Mihm was born in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania on 20 Aug 1799. He was the son or Johannes and Lidnia Mihm. Valentine married Rachel Holben 1796-1892, the daughter of Christian Holben 1774-1955 and Maria Bachman 1776-. Valentine and Rachel moved to Seneca County, Varick Township New York, about a half mile north of Waterloo, between 1824 and 1830. They were in Medina County, Ohio in 1850 and moved to Van Wert Ohio some time after 1850. Valentine was a shoemaker by trade. He and Rachel had six children, Mary Polly 1820-1888 who married Amos Beldon 1815-1929, David F. 1824-1907 who married Delilah Brouse 1832-1922, John Henry 1829-1891 who married Malissa Dague -1921, Sophia 1833-1920 who married Isaac Putman 1829-1894, Catherine 1835-1918 who married Amasa King 1832-1870 and Lavina 1839-1922 who married Andrew Mitchell King 1834-1918. Valentine died on 8 Sep 1861 in Van Wert County, Ohio. His wife Rachel (Holben) Mihm died on 29 Aug 1892 in Rockford, Mercer County. Ohio. They are buried in Ridge (Slater) Cemetery, Van Wert County, Ohio.
