Solomon Holben
1793-1878

Solomon Holben was born on 29 Mar 1793 in
Northampton County, Pennsylvania, the son of Lorenz Holben 1750-1842 and
Eve Catharine Kramlich. His father Lorentz was a farmer in Lehigh County, Weisenberg
Township, Pennsylvania and owned a tract of land consisting of 140 acres
including a homestead.
In 1777 during the period of the American Revolution, Solomon's
father Lorentz was a member of Capt. Marburger's company of the 3d
Battalion of Northampton County Militia, commanded by Colonel Michael Bobst.
Solomon married Elizabeth (unknown surname).
They had three children: Solomon, Lucy and Phaon, all born in
Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. After the death of his father Lorentz, the
old homestead in Weisenberg Township was divided among
Solomon
and two of his brothers, Peter and Jacob.
Solomon's wife Elisabeth died on 11 Nov 1867.
Solomon Holben died on 9 Jan 1878. They are buried in Weisenberg Church
Cemetery, Lehigh County, Weisenberg Township, Pennsylvania.
