Michael O. Brouse

1775-1859

Michael O. Brouse Jr. was born 18 Feb 1775 in Lancaster, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Michael O. Brouse Sr. 1755-1851, and Rachael Duck. In 1798 Michael Brouse married Suzanah Wilt 1780-1867 from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John and Mary Wilt. Michael Brouse Sr. and family moved west early and were among the first settlers of Chippewa Township, Wayne County, Ohio. Michael Brouse Sr. was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War while his son, our subject, Michael Brouse Jr. was a veteran of the War of 1812. Michael Jr. died on 18 May 1859 in Wayne County. Susanah Wilt died on 28 Jan 1868 also in Wayne County, Ohio. They are buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Medina County Ohio.
