Matilda Fidelia Swartz

1847-1922

Matilda Fadelia Swartz was born on 20 Feb 1847, the daughter of William R. Swartz 1820-1908 and Elizabeth Ann Bonewitz 1824-1897. She married William Stanley Rogers on 20 Apr 1877 in Wayne County, Ohio (#2400). Matilda Swartz and William Rogers had at least four children I can name: Mary Jane, Austin, Nellie G. and Ada M. William died in 1899. Matilda died on 24 Nov 1922 in Lorain County, Ohio (#2402). They are buried in Huntington Cemetery, Huntington, Lorain, County, Ohio.

Mary Elizabeth Swartz and her sister Matilda (Swartz) Rogers. The names on the back of the photo do not say which lady is which but Mary Elizabeth is about four years older than Matilda. Hopefully another photo of either person will turn up to settle the mystery.

On 26 Jan 2012, thanks to the help of (Shannon) a direct Swartz descendent who compared Matilda Swartz to their personal photos, Matilda was identified as the taller lady on the right side of this photograph.
