Mary Schaefer

Mary Schaefer the daughter of John Schaefer and Bertha Als, was born 9 Aug 1882 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. She was the wife of John William Kohus 1880-1917. John was the son of Herbert B. Kohus Sr. 1886-1969 and Mabel Julia Duncan 1890-1970. Mary's husband John was the owner operator of John Kohus' Cafe on Main Street in Cincinnati until his death from tuberculosis in 1917. Mary continued to run the business until about 1919, though in one entry in the Cincinnati Williams Directory she was listed as selling soft drinks from the location. John and Mary had one daughter, Loretta S. 1902-1962.  Mary (Schaefer) Kohus died on 13 Aug 1959 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. She and her husband are buried in St. Mary Cemetery in Cincinnati (#214).
