Louise K. Kohus

Louise Kohus was born on 23 Mar 1899 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Her parents were Edward Frederick Kohus 1877-1952 and Loretta C. Dillhoff 1877-1961. Louise married John Speakes on 30 Oct 1920. They lived and raised their family in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. Louise (Kohus) Speakes died on 10 Aug 1953 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, in the Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati. Her grave is located among a group of family plots owned by her grandfather Henry Kohus 1838-1913. Henry Kohus or Johan Heinrich Kohues 1838-1913 as he was named in the Prussia, was a successful merchant tailor in Cincinnati. He was one of three brothers to immigrate to America from Ostbevern, Westphalia, Prussia in the mid 19th century.
