James Monroe Clouse

1852-1925

James Monroe Clouse was born 13 May 1852 in Ashland County, Jackson Township, Ohio. He was the son of Simon Clouse 1815-1899 and Sarah Elizabeth Newcomer 1820-1884. Simon and Sarah migrated from Pennsylvania and settled on a farm in Ashland County, Ohio where their children were raised. Like his father, James Monroe Clouse was a farmer by occupation. James and Mary Ramsey 1857-1938, were married on 22 Nov 1877 (#2344). Together they had six children I can name: Jane M, Margaret Viola, Fern, Hazel C, Charles William and Marion M. James Monroe Clouse died on 23 Jan 1925 in Wayne County, Canaan Township, Ohio (#2114). His wife Mary died on  1 May 1938. They are buried in Canaan Cemetery in Wayne County. These photos were submitted by their great great granddaughter Heather Overton who believes them to be accurate but unfortunately, no names are written on the backs of the photos.
