Frances Edward Kohus

Frances E. Kohus Jr. was born 12 Jun 1933 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. He was the son of Frances Edward Kohus 1908-1977 and Grace A. Eddingfield 1905-1963. In 1950 according to his Social Security application, Frank lived in Norwood, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati. Frances served our country during the Korean War and became a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. Unfortunately, he was captured and spent time as a P.O.W. between 27 Oct 1952 and 6 Aug 1953. Some time after returning home Frank relocated to California. He married Carolena (Carol) Mackley 1935-2000 in 1955. They were later divorced and she died in Bullhead City, Mohave County, Arizona on 15 Jan 2000. Frances died in  Huntington Beach, California on 15 Apr 1994.He is buried in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.

 

Obituary: Frank E. Kohus Jr., 60, of Huntington Beach, an engineer, died Friday. Services have been held. He served in the Marines during the Korean War. Burial at Riverside National Cemetery. Arrangements by Harbor Lawn Memorial Park Mortuary, Costa Mesa. Survived by his daughter, Kelly (Kohus) Swift; son, Francis Kohus lll, John Kohus and Mike Kohus; sisters, Barbara (Kohus) Pendergrass, Patricia Kohus and Sally (Kohus) Gross; and 6 grandchildren.
