Alma Kohus was born
in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, in August 1890. She was the daughter of
Louis Kohus 1858-1907 and
Julia Elbrey 1860-1945. Alma married
Peter Frances Buckley
1884-1920 on 29 Apr 1908 in Cincinnati, Ohio
(#450). They had 2 children,
Dorothy Buckley
1908-1992 and Peter Howard Buckley 1912-1984. Her husband
Pete was a Cincinnati Fireman by trade. Pete was fighting a fire in June
1920 at the Newton Tea and Spice Company in Cincinnati when a wall collapsed on
top of him, resulting in his death a short time later in a hospital. Alma next married Clarence H. Dreyfus. Clarence was a salesman by trade.
Alma's mother Julia (Elbrey) Kohus was widowed in 1907. Julia lived the rest of
here life with her daughter Alma and Alma's family. Alma and Clarence moved to Atlanta,
Georgia, some time between 1920 and 1930. Alma and
Clarence had at least one son, Bernard Dreyfus 1915-1975. Alma lived for
some time in Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida. I was told by Herbert
Bernard Kohus Jr., her nephew, that she was living in a retirement home in
Cincinnati for some time before her death. Alma died at Deaconess Hospital on 7
Sep 1981.
