William M. Haney was born on 10 April 1886 in Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky. William married  Eugenia E. Hargis 1894-1975 daughter of William Norvel Hargis and Nancy Ethel Gearhart.  William Haney died on 13 April 1929 in Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia. His West Virginia record of death states that he was a timber man by trade. William was originally buried in the Hargis Cemetery in Craney, Kentucky, which is located south of Morehead. During the Cave Run Lake construction project, all the graves in the Hargis Cemetery along with other cemeteries in the vacinity were moved to other locations. At that time William was moved to Brown Cemetery near Morehead, Kentucky. His wife Eugenia (Hargis) Haney died 10 JUl 1975. She is also buried in Brown Cemetery.
