Penel Manchester Littleton,  "Chester" was born 27 Sep 1908 in Rowan County, Kentucky, to the parents of Fantley Aaron Littleton and Ida Vannen Hamm. He was married three times. His wives were Ethel Blevins, Viola Lena Hamm and Mary Horsley. Penel Manchester Littleton died on 2 June 2001. He is buried in Sardis Cemetery, Rowan County, Kentucky.
