Missouri Lee Blanton married Rev.
Basil Hamm 1882-1967,
on 13 Jan 1907 in Rowan County, Basil was a farmer and minister of
the Christian Holiness Church in Kentucky. She was
the daughter of Lafayette A. Blanton 1868- and
Nancy J. Littleton
1867-1919. Together they
raised twelve children, Louie Mae
1908-1986, Viola Lena
1910-1978, Vestal Emerson
1913-1997, Lilma Ova
1915-1916, Versie Alden 1917-2003,
Oval
Arizona 1920-2006,
Louella Alice 1922-1980, Carl Austin
1924-1958, Zora Alvin
1927-2003,
Ira James 1930-, Earl Vinton 1932-1932 and
Verl Clinton 1932-1932. Missouri preceded her husband in death on 16 Jan 1951. Though her
headstone gives her death date as 1950, her
death certificate is dated 16
January 1951. I believe her death certificate to be most likely to be correct since the
headstone could have been placed there at a later date. Rev. Basil Hamm died on 11 Dec
1967. They are both buried in Sardis Cemetery, Rowan County, Kentucky.
