Louiza Hargis

1861-1907

Louiza Hargis was born on 27 Jun 1861 in Kentucky, the daughter of Jacob Weddington Hargis 1828-1915 of Russel County, Virginia and  Nancy Jane Calhoun 1842-1919 of Breathitt County, Kentucky. She married Beverly McCain Pelfrey 1857-1949 about 1879. Louiza died on 27 Apr 1907 in Rowan County, Kentucky. She was originally buried in the Hargis Family Cemetery near Craney, Kentucky. The Hargis Family Cemetery was relocated by the Corps of Engineers to make room during the construction of Cave Run Lake. Louiza was moved at that time to Alfrey Cemetery, near Morehead, Kentucky. her husband Beverly McClain Pelfrey died 4 Jan 1940 in Fleming County, Kentucky. He is buried in Riddle Cemetery, Morehead, Kentucky. (#317)
