James H. Hargis

1855-1941

James H. Hargis was born May 1855, the son of Jacob Weddington Hargis 1828-1915 and Jacob's first wife Lucinda South. James Hargis died in 1941. Jacob was originally buried in the Hargis Cemetery in Rowan County, Kentucky. When a dam was being constructed on the Licking River forming Cave Run Lake, the Hargis Cemetery and others in the area were relocated to  Alfrey Cemetery near Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky.
