Catharine Franks

1802-1885

Catharine Franks was born 1802 in Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Jacob Franks and Sarah Livingood. Catharine married Jacob Bonewitz 1787-1868, in 1820. See "A Portrait and biographical record of Allen and Van Wert Counties, Ohio," A. W. Bowen & Co. (p-60) & (p-61). Jacob and Catharine relocated to Wayne County, East Union Township, Ohio in 1833. Jacob was a farmer by trade. Catharine and Jacob Bonewitz raised at least eight children I can name: Julia G, Martin Vanburen, Elizabeth Ann, Martha, Joseph A, (Dow ? spelling) and Sarah J. Jacob Bonewitz died 11 May 1868 in Wayne County. Catharine (Franks) Bonewitz died there in 1885. They are both buried in East Union Cemetery, Honeytown, Wayne County, Ohio.
